Sinfonia in E Op 9 No 2 - J C Bach Concertino Pastorale for strings - Ireland Violin Concerto No 5 in A and Adagio in E, K261 - Mozart Symphony No 44, Trauer - Haydn Two lyrical works, from composers who loved melodies open the season. Then one of the Evening Standard’s ‘rising stars of 2008’ plays a concerto Mozart wrote to perform himself. Haydn’s symphony, which he asked to be played at his funeral, shows his darker side.
