Havant Symphony Orchestra returns to Oaklands Catholic School, Waterlooville for all three concerts this year, bringing back three of our most popular previous soloists: pianist Viv McLean, violinist Alexander Sitkovetsky* and cellist Richard Harwood. The Oaklands hall has upholstered raked seating, warm resonant acoustics and plenty of space for the players in the larger Symphony orchestra. We are grateful to the school for making it possible for the orchestra to return to performing regularly in the Havant area.
Havant Chamber Orchestra continues at Ferneham Hall, Fareham this year, with three new soloists: cellist Philip Handy, pianist Cordelia Williams (whose previous appearance was thwarted by snow in 2010) and violinist Savitri Grier.
Separate season tickets are available for the three concerts at each venue, with a further price reduction when season tickets are purchased for both venues. Single tickets will be on sale after the July concert.
* Alexander Sitkovetsky later won an important award for which the presentation event clashed with our March concert, so his place is being taken by international soloist Boris Brovtsyn.
